Portraits of a Fly

When I was pruning my Locust tree last month, I found this fly frozen to a little stick.
Which picture is your favorite? (Click to for an enlarged photo to see the details.)

That's just weird. I can't believe you found it. My vote goes to the pic with the pit in the background

Um, yuck! But that reminds me......

A couple of weeks ago I attended a regional YW camp meeting with several workshops. One of the workshops I went to was about camp crafts. A couple of ladies showed lots of different crafty ideas ranging from jewelry to journals, to wood blocks to hand stitched bookcovers, etc.

Well, their last presentation was an art project. They suggested getting a dead fly from the window sill and incorporating it into a drawing. For instance, a fly jumping off a diving board. 3 flies canoeing on the lake. Flies at flag ceremony. They had several ideas and examples!

Um, okay. I can hear it now. Girls, everyone go to your cabin and dig a dead fly out of the window track and make a cute picture out of him! Most girls would think I've completely lost it! A couple would actually think it was fun!

Debbie--That is so funny! Interestingly, I have a big aversion to flies, but not so much bees or yellow jackets. I would probably have no problem drawing a picture of a yellow jacket getting hit by a car or something. But there is no way I would touch a dirty fly for any reason. Well...maybe I would for money. :)
