Toes

You know, toes are funny things. When they are relaxed, some curl in a bit. It takes some concentration to spread and bend and flex them, and then they really look weird. When I was a teenager, I used to pick things up with my toes all the time. Back then, my knees were limber enough that I could spend more time with them. But now I hurry through pedicures to save my knees the ache.

I believe toes are generally taken for granted--until you stub or break one. Then you remember how necessary they are for keeping balance. Until you injure a toe, you just expect them to be crammed into uncomfortable shoes without complaint. So take a minute today and appreciate your toes. :)

when I was a kid/teen I spent toilet time to try and train my toes. I figured it would just take practice to make them work like hands. I got pretty good at being able to lift each toe individually, but I never put that skill to good use and now it's gone. So sad.

I'm very good at picking things up with my toes. My knees are fine, and it saves my back! :o) I once cut out a postcard from a cereal box, pasted on a picture
9with a gluestick) and wrote a note to my boyfriend on the postcard all with my toes. My roommates and I just wondered if I could do it.

I will appreciate my toes and my feet, thanks. This post also reminds me that I broke a toe when walkie Alfie one day.

Christy and Mindy--wow! Someone should invent an instrument to be played by toes so you can impress the world.

Min! You can't leave us hanging! How did you break your toe walking our dog?

One of the young men in our ward broke his pinkie toe a week or so ago when he was ballroom dancing. He stepped on his own foot! At least his partner escaped injury.

I love the tan line on your foot! I think that all the years of pregnancy has left me quite adept with toe picking up. My mom, however, is the expert. She can make the Vulcan sign with her toes.

Thanks for reminding us of some immutable and yet often overlooked (especially if our bellies are too big) truths. I have always believed that toes are among our most sensuous organs. And at last we understand why your sister took so long in the bathroom!

My BIL said this post was too weird to read all the way through. That's the point! Toes are weird.
