"Good For The Children"

I (Kent this time) found these old advertisements at a Mormon History blog called KeepAPitchinIn and I thought they were awesome. These advertisements were included in LDS Church magazines during World War I. My Aunt Jan contends that we should store lots of sugar since everyone is addicted to it and it will trade better than money when hard times come. Maybe it contains some nutritional value too? Take a look. (I love that we are doing this "for the children"!)

Wow, my kids must be really, really healthy then. Of course, they don't play at games all day that require a lot of vitality, but I guess that means they're just storing up the goodness of sugar.

I knew there was a reason I loved sugar. Plus, after all their teeth rot out, I save a fortune in dentist bills.

those are great! Ah, propaganda.
(My word verification was "flesh". I don't know if I've ever had a real word before.)

Good stuff! Just like sugar--apparently.

Hey, maybe they knew something we don't. I mean, I don't think they had many problems with widespread childhood obesity did they? I wish I lived back then. Of course, my kids think we already live this way.
